IDX (Internet Data Exchange)

IDX stands for "Internet Data Exchange" commonly called Broker Reciprocity. The next stage in the evolution of the MLS, IDX is the primary means of enhancing cooperation between REALTORS® to facilitate the purchase and sale of real estate property. IDX gives MLS Participants the tool they need to display each others' listings on their Internet websites. Under the IDX real estate system, brokers exchange consent to display each others listings on the Internet. You have full control over which real estate listings you display.
To obtain IDX on your website you will need to complete the IDX Data Access Agreement and return it to the Association via fax (925.369.7151) or snail-mail. When we have verified the data, we will notify you by sending a confirmation package in the mail with the FTP site address, User ID and password. (Please note that the FTP pull is a data stream. It is a comma, tab, pipe delimited format, meaning that it’s not pre-formatted for display).
